The event will take place at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center. Giving the talk will be Nisarg Desai, GlobalSign’s Director of Product Management for the IoT. He will discuss blockchain in the energy market, and more specifically, using digital certificates to secure and manage smart meters.
At the event, Desai will address the industrial smart meter market’s expected growth throughout the next five years, where as many as half a billion smart meters will be installed globally. In addition, he will explain how many countries will soon become reliant on Internet-connected smart meters to deliver their electricity, facilitating delivery but vastly increasing the potential attack surface of the electric grid. As part of the discussion, the talk will also cover provisioning digital certificates and how they play a role in making smart meters secure.
