The Information Security Officers Group (ISOG), an organization of information security officers from leading the country’s leading financial organizations, will host the biggest cybersecurity event in the Philippines. The event will take place from October 8 to November 7 in celebration of October as the National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The event, entitled I.A.M. Secure 2018 and with a tagline “Honoring InfoSec Teams: The Navy SEALs of Cyberspace,” will be divided in three exciting activities. The first event will take place on October 17 and October 18 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel while the second event will take place on October 24 at the AG New World Manila Bay Hotel. ISOG will also host the first-ever Hackathon in the country on October 7-8, culminating with a closing ceremony on November 7.
ISOG are expecting over 700 participants from their partner companies, supporters, and sponsors. They also invited over 30 local and international speakers to facilitate the breakout and plenary sessions as they share their best practices in dealing with external threats. Over 50 corporate sponsors and companies have already confirmed their participation and more will be added in the coming weeks. The organization is aiming to host the biggest cybersecurity event in Philippines, possibly bigger than their previous outings.
The Information Security Officers Group started hosting cybersecurity events in 2014 to help bring together local and international IT security executives and experts from around the world. Over the years, more and more companies and institutions have participated in these events, including the National Privacy Commission, Bankers Association of the Philippines, Banko Sentral ng Pilipines, and the Department of Information and Communication Technology, among others.
I.A.M. Secure 2018 will likely tackle the establishment of a standard cybersecurity processes and procedures across the entire financial industry. As part of the ISOG’s mission to help organizations and companies safeguard their system against the growing number of cyber threats, expect a lot of innovations, methodologies, and best practices will be showcased during the three-part event.
